At Longview Cottage, we seek respite from the daily grind and are inspired by the past to be grounded in the present. Taking a nod from whimsical English cottage gardens, as well as mono no aware and memento mori philosophies – we weave each stem into layered, textural art that looks dreamy and smells divine. Whether it’s a bouquet to mark a special moment, a bundle of blooms for a celebration, or a class to connect with nature and your creative side, we have garden grown blooms for every occasion.

METHODS

Pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides are never used at the Longview Cottage garden. Our goal is to create a healthy and safe environment for the flowers (as well as ourselves) by using natural practices. This helps them resist pests and diseases on their own, resulting in naturally healthy, strong plants. This is done through organic horticulture, companion planting, regenerative agriculture, and attracting beneficial insects to the garden.

We only treat our plants with items you can find in a kitchen pantry, and things that are safe for consumption. You can rest assured our flowers aren't covered with toxic chemicals.

We believe in growing a strong and vibrant ecosystem, both for fauna's and our benefit. On our urban micro farm, we leave about 1/3 of our potential farming space wild. We grow as many multipurpose, edible, and native flora as possible including fruit, flowers, and herbs.
